Standards
Vetted, and published
How we keep the work credible — and why your name won't sit next to pseudoscience. Every researcher is placed in a tier, by explicit criteria, stated here.
Verified
An institutional affiliation or recognized credentials — a university, museum, or field-unit position, or an established publication record. Identity and affiliation confirmed.
Vetted Independent
No current institutional post, but a proposal that passes methodological review against explicit criteria: a clear question, sound method, falsification criteria, no predetermined conclusion, and a realistic budget and permit plan. Judged on the work, not the title.
Community
Early-stage or exploratory contributors, clearly labelled and not yet eligible for funded projects. A way in, not a dead end.
Controversial questions are welcome. Unsupported claims are not.
Funding
How the money works
Funding is contributor-directed and released against milestones an independent reviewer signs off — you’re paid as verified work lands, not upfront and not on faith. Roughly 80% of contributions go to the research itself, and every contribution’s path is on a public ledger. We’re finalizing the legal and fiscal structure now, and we’ll show you exactly how funds are held and disbursed before you ever commit.
Rights
Your work stays yours
You keep authorship and intellectual property. You’re free to publish in journals and present your work as you normally would — the open archive is where the evidence and data live in public, not a claim on your rights. Permits, ethics approvals, and local heritage obligations remain yours to hold; we help you document them, and nothing is funded without them.

Every funded question is proposed on the same spine — more than a grant abstract, less than a dissertation: enough for an independent reviewer to judge the method before any money moves.

Where we are
Alexandria is pre-launch. We’re assembling the first cohort of researchers and an advisory board, and finalizing the funding structure. We’re not promising funding today — we’re inviting the researchers who would use this to help shape it, and to be first when it opens.
